Hello, I am new to this community. I absolutely adore lolita fashion, but I have never worn it before. I am going to Japan this summer and I want to do some shopping and possibly buy my first lolita outfit. Question is how to do the sizes? And will I even be able to fit them lol. I wear an 37 inch bust 31inch waist and 35 inch hips. What is that in centimeters and in the Japanese sizes? Will it be hard to find clothes my size? Also shoes. I wear a 8.5 U.S what is that Japanese size.

A friend of mine told me that there's going to be a group order for custom sized rockinghorse shoes? I'm a US Women's 11/UK 42, so I've just about given up hope of ever, ever owning rockinghorses -- but I LOVE them so, I've considered actually sawing soles out of a block of wood to try to make some. O_o

I would die a million deaths of lolita joy if I could ever hope to obtain a pair of black rockinghorses in my size.

What sort of photo gallery do you find the most appealing? Do you enjoy the classical appearance of Mary Magdalene's rose-print wall paper, or perhaps you prefer the simple white back drop?

I'm in dire need of opinions. My commission gallery's debut has been pushed back due to an irritating lack of professional flood lights, battles with the post office and customs and a near nervous breakdown on my part. (Three days of constant sewing and two rush orders can do that).

So, I'm serious about this, I will order it. I want a cutsew-type top like this one. I want it to be white on white, preferedly eyelet lace but it doesn't have to match the picture. The buttons don't have to be real, like the shirt doesn't have to open up. How much would something like that cost?
My bust measurement is 34" and my waist is 27.5". I am short-waisted.

On the patterns that come with the bibles, some of the markings are throwing me a bit off. As a novice sewer, and blessed with a mother who is an excellent seamstress, I'm dying to finally use the patterns stacking up from my bibles.

SO. Can someone who has used the patterns kindly tell me what these things mean? ;_; :

-In the upper corner of the patterns they show 4 lines (a thin solid, a thick solid, a dotted line, and a dot-dash line). I know the first two but...
What is the dotted line?
What is the dot-dash line?

-When they list how many to cut out, sometimes there's two on the same piece. For example "moonspeakmoonspeak x2 moonspeakmoonspeak x1"
Is one of them for lining, and one for the actual material?

-Some patterns will have diagonal hatch lines over a portion of them. Wtf is this? XD

-Concerning sizes.
Roughly what are the measurements of most pieces? Do the dresses run different sizes in the patterns depending on company? I've read that AP is rather small, is this the same with their patterns?

-Some patterns randomly have one or more short diagonal lines jutting into the pattern.
Does this mean I have to do something with the material?

Meta have said that the new polka dot fabric is different and the dots aren't the right size to match.  Anyway I thought I'd try my luck here.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm going to visit Japan tommorrow with a tour but have one free day for shopping at Harajuku... and I had several questions, for anyone who is familiar with the stores there.

When do most stores open? Is it around ten o' clock like the malls in the U.S.? I noticed that Korean malls and shops open at around ten to eleven, so I was guessing it's the same in Japan... Also, how are the employees at the shops about windowshopping? Though I've read in past entries that they're pretty nice in BtSSB and Meta and all... but to be honest, I don't have too much money to spend... I would spend money, but my funds are limited... Would it be a too big of a bother to windowshop there? Any help would be great! Thank you~

I've recently decided to take up my writing again until such time as I am rich enough to make movies.

Here is what I am working on; a mystery story set in the parrallel version of Earth which can pretty much be described as steam punk. The dress code is Lolita influenced of course. At least in the Isles.

In Britain (or the Isles as it's known) there's Byron city (which is the capital), the twin Shelley cities of Mary and Percy and Conan-Doyle city in the North. Off shore is Swift island, which is occupied by the Isles. You can pretty much tell that I'm naming the cities after poets and writers native to their respective countries.
It's in Byron city I'm setting the stories of the Eagle sisters, two aristocratic sisters (who both have different fathers) who decide to use their wits, power, influence and various magical talents to solve mysteries and to protect their young niece Sarah, who though only fourteen has inherited a vast fortune from her mother and is now under the protection of her aunts.

Mara and Clara Eagle have to had not only their wits, power, influence and various magical talents, but also the use of their pet eagle Hallon. Hallon was once a young man who fell helplessly in love with Clara and stalked her in the guise of an eagle (hoping she would appreciate the sentiment), but being the inept magician he was he is now stuck in that form. He can still talk and practice some magic and still infatuated with Clara, put his services to good use by assisting Mara and Clara in their work as their survelliance and information gatherer.

Okay, all this is REALLY rough, but I want some opinions and suggestions on how I proceed. And on my writing in general. It's all under the cut!
