If you have any questions, feels free to ask!

Hello, can I ask a few questions about the event? First of all, can I ask why members of RDRR have privileged access to the tickets (at least, if I understood correctly). This seems a bit unfair to non-French people who may want to partecipate, why should we need to be part of a French forum (with instructions to join only in French) to have a chance to get a ticket to an event? Furthermore, even if we join i don't see how can we partecipate to a French forum. It just seems a policy that tends to make things more difficult for people outside France and to be honest it seems unfair to me. Moreover, you are posting this announcement on egl, but the tickets for RDRR have been on sale since Saturday. Isn't it a bit weird you are advertising your event on an international forum when French members have already been given the opportunity to buy the most coveted tickets 6 days ago? Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

I think it's because people of RDRR help the association, not only through some forum. They pay to be part of the association, help, and then as a reward they can get privileged access. (For what I understand) Also, maybe it would be complicated for them to open subscriptions to international? Most French aren't comfortable with English so maybe some members wouldn't like having to deal with it.

I don't know, I'm not a member of RDRR, it's just my opinion, as a French. And personnally, I'm French but I don't want to become a member of RDRR, because I think that if I was, I would like to feel involved in the association, and I don't have enough time for that.

But, anyway, I really look forward to this event! :)

Thanks for the comment.

Exactly, not all french lolita are member of this association. But to be part of it, you don't need to "help" it. The only "help" is to pay 20 € for one year and thanks to that contribution, you have priority and lower prices to all events we organized and on the magazine L'empire des Dentelles (published once a year since 2009). You don't have to do anything else, except if you want to.

We are actually looking about an international opening to our association, but we need to see if you could legally do it. Our association is official, means we have to accept some rules. And we don't make the rules, french governement does :)

Thank you very much, it's more clear and interesting! Although as I will move to the Netherlands in a couple of months, I don't know if it would still be doable... But I will keep it in mind! :)
27th-Mar-2014 09:23 am (UTC)
Thanks :)

We have a french member who lives in Korea!
27th-Mar-2014 09:04 am (UTC)

First of all, thanks for the comment and your interest on the event.

I am afraid you didn't understand well. RDRR isn't not a forum but an official association and our members paid an annual contribution so It's normal for them to have some privileges, as priority about tickets and lower prices.

Our association don't have a forum, we organized many event such as tea parties, Convention Lolita and fashion show since 2008.

BUT we have a lot of places and not so many members in our association. That's mean you'll still have a chance to get a ticket, even if you're not french. Priority isn't for all french lolita, just our members, who paid the annual contribution. Just the tea party (16 places) will be out of stock this week. That's mean there is still 95 places for the day event and 45 for the nigth event. We will open reservations for everyone on Saturday March 29th, 2014, at 2pm (GMT+1). And we will not give priority to french who are not members, the first one who pay his tickets can get a ticket on saturday, even if you're not french :)

Tickets for the day event is 25 € and the night event is 25 €

I wish I answer properly to your question,

27th-Mar-2014 09:31 am (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your answer. I now understand RDRR is an association. And I see your point, but as a foreigner if I have to pay to come to Paris and then not have a chance to attend the tea party it doesn't make much sense for me. If I already have to pay for travel and accomodation and then I don't even get an opportunity to enjoy the event fully it does make me think twice about coming. Can I suggest next time you publish an announcement before opening sales for RDRR members? In this way everybody can join the association in time and partecipate in the sale for the most coveted tickets. Or just have a bigger venue to accomodate more people? You advertise the possibility to become a member of RDRR but now it's too late to get Alice tickets anyway and if I understood correctly it's an option open only to French people. So to me it looked like "Oh look, there is a cool event! There is this ticket which includes everything but you are not gonna get a chance to get it". Do you see what I mean?
27th-Mar-2014 09:46 am (UTC)
Well, actually... since it is an event to elect the french lolita ambassador, I would say it concerns really way more the french than the foreigners anyway...
And also (well since the association is for now only accessible for french people due to the official statute of the association, and the fact they don't really know how to legally open it to the international you can't really do that) but if you were french you could still have an Alice ticket by now : you would just have to fulfill the form, pay your subscription and there you could buy a ticket still before the official sale opening.
27th-Mar-2014 10:14 am (UTC)
If the event was not so welcoming of international people why post on egl then? Btw, if I was French I could not get an Alice ticket anyway as the sale for those started six days ago and I would be suprised there are still tickets left. Plus, the person who replied to me said "Just the tea party (16 places) will be out of stock this week" which to me means Alice tickets have already sold out. But if you know otherwise feel free to correct this information.
It is fine if the event is for French lolitas, I was under the impression they would like to have international guests as well, and I was pointing out why this specific arrangement puts foreigners at a disadvantage.
27th-Mar-2014 10:28 am (UTC)
There are already more than 16 members of the association who asked for the Alice ticket, so they are planning to do a random draw the 29th so that every member who asked for an Alice ticket can have a chance to have one.
And yes the tickets sale for the members started last saturday but you still can join the assocation and ask to have a chance to have an Alice ticket, like I said, since the tickets sale for everyone is still not open. And I think you could have found all these informations on the website of the event...
It is a french lolita event, where we are to elect our lolita ambassador, so, again, I would say it is quite normal to see the french people beeing advantaged...

Thanks for the explanation (I looked on the website but could not find the info about being able to still purchase an Alice ticket, I must have missed it). But anyway as a foreigner I cannot, and the Alice ticket was what I was interested in. Thanks anyway for clarifying.
27th-Mar-2014 11:35 am (UTC)
Hello again.

We don't want to cause troubles and are sad to see how bad it became.

We are welcoming foreign lolitas. Of course we do! Yes, the tea party is only for 16 lolitas BUT from 3pm to 9pm Aoki Misako could be met on the event. Only from 1 PM to 3 PM she will be at the tea party. That's mean everyone still have all day and night to meet her. Also, there is a lot of activities planned all day, like fashion shows, photobooth, and some exhibitors from all world. The cocktail (from 6PM to 9 PM) is another great option for lolitas who couldn't have tea party tickets to be with Aoki Misako.

And we will not give priority to french for this. So, yes, foreigners are welcomed. Only RDRR members have got priority - but they're are so many...

For now, we couldn't tell if there'll be a possibility for foreigners to join the association. If we could, we'll post on egl about it to open the subscription for all next events.

Anyway, We don't want to cause troubles here, so I will let the mods decided if this event could be posted on EGL -if not, I'll them delete it :)

Have a lovely day!
27th-Mar-2014 11:59 am (UTC)
Thanks again for your reply. I do not see a problem with this event being posted on Egl, I was just trying to understand better and bringing up potential issues for a foreigner wanting to join, like myself.
27th-Mar-2014 12:05 pm (UTC)
I understand. But I have already wrote to mods and let them decided.
27th-Mar-2014 04:25 pm (UTC)
We can accept foreigners members in our association! We've just check.
27th-Mar-2014 07:00 pm (UTC)

If you still want to try to have an Alice ticket, you can ask to join the association and make your ticket reservation until tomorrow night.

All the informations about how to join the association can be found here :

(english translation at the botton of the page)

A draw will be done tomorrow night to choose who will have the chance to attend the Tea Party.

If you don't want to join the association, keep in mind that the evening party is also a good choice to spend a intimist time with Aoki Misako while eating some good things, in a less conventional atmosphere !

Thank you for your review, that showed us that we were not good concerning the foreigners' membership, and that it was not fair for this event. It helped a lot.

27th-Mar-2014 07:15 pm (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know, I will think about joining but I appreciate you thought about my feedback.
27th-Mar-2014 09:53 pm (UTC)
You're welcome. Thanks you.
31st-Mar-2014 10:25 pm (UTC)
Hello! I live in New York but I'll be in Paris in July, so I want to attend, but my French isn't very good. Would you recommend that I go, or do you think I'll be uncomfortable? I assume mostly everyone there will be French, and speaking French. Thank you!
1st-Apr-2014 05:32 pm (UTC)

I am not sure my previous reply was posted so I do it again !

To answer your question, you will be welcomed to Following Alice and won't be alone as there will be other europeans (and non french speakers) people who will talk in english. Also, most of our french lolitas speak english and love to meet foreign lolitas. I'm sure you won't be uncomfortable at all !

Hope to see you in Paris this summer !
