Blouse fabric?

Hello! I am fairly new to lolita and I've recently come across a couple of offbrand blouses that I would love to incorporate into my wardrobe. The only problem is, they are made of a shiny polyester fabric, giving them sort of a satiny look. I was wondering if that was a definite no-no, if there are some do's and don'ts or if there was no problem to it? They definitely don't look 'costume-y', they are store-bought blouses with a shiny edge. Thank you!

Generally, the sort of shine you want to avoid is the kind on costume satin fabric, the kind of stuff you find on halloween costumes. It just looks cheap and gross, and it doesn't stand up to wear and tear that well. Stuff with a subtle sheen on it, like bridal satin and some pearskin, is completely kosher.

There are many things that you can do with lolita as long as you handle it with good taste, even if they are out of the ordinary.
For example, AatP has released many shiny, satin blouses in the past.
As long as the rest of your coord is elegant and stays away from other "costume-y" stereotypes, it should be fine.
Good luck! (:
