Angelic Pretty Petit Patisserie, Question!

Hello :)

I have a question for those who own Angelic Pretty Petit Patisserie Tiered JSK version. Thank you in advance for your help!

Recently, I sold this JSK in Mint to a girl on EGL but when she got it, she messaged me with: I received the dress but I'm very upset. You mentioned the scratches in the print but did NOT mention the dress coming apart from the lining at the zipper. And here are her photos:

And link to her video here.

I have the same dress I'm selling in Pink, so I tried to take some photos of the same spot she was talking about.

My question is that for those who have this style of the dress, is the dress not attached to the zipper? Because I think that since chiffon is a bit delicate, AP sews it a bit differently than their usual cotton dresses. So if you can help me, I appreciate it! Thank you!

It seems like it was intentionally done so that the chiffon layer can 'float' over the fabric underneath it. If the chiffon had been sewn down to the zipper, it would be stuck flat in that spot and probably look odd, and if that open part in the chiffon had been sewn closed, you wouldn't be able to pull the zipper down all the way.

Mine is the same.

I have a misty sky skirt that has that exact same finishing. The zipper is on the lining and the chiffon over it has a slit that is hemmed but not connected. It's completely normal! It's not a "hole" nor is the dress coming apart. You can even see the stitches along the bottom where the slit ends, it's stitched over in the V shape. If it was falling/pulled apart, there would be loose threads!

Hi, I'm the one who bought the dress.

I wasn't aware that the slit below the dress was considered normal - I have this dress in brown and I don't have the same issue.

This is what's upsetting me. I am being repeatedly told that the dress is fine when it's coming apart from the zipper.

Ah! I see what you mean now. The pictures you sent me didn't show this very well. Sorry for the misunderstanding then!

Wow, that's really bad. I also think the post here is not very honest. That's a huge gaping hole with tons of ripped threads coming out of it, there's no way that someone who remotely checked that dress before listing it didn't see it, yet when I read the post and the pictures of the pink dress with the neatly hemmed slit above the zipper, I thought the person who bought this dress was a total idiot and that the seller was honest. But, you're talking about a totally different part, a part that isn't hemmed, a part that's totally torn. If I were you I would also be very upset, and a simple "sorry for the misunderstanding" really doesn't cover it. I hope you get a partial refund or full refund if you want to send the dress back and get one that isn't totally ripped, especially since looking at the threads on the part that's still attached, the rest of the dress looks like it's about to fall apart, too. At the very least the seller should return to you whatever it costs to repair.
