Fanplusfriend Coat and Bloomers Review + Photos
I'm here to review my recent purchase of a coat from Fanplusfriend as well as a pair of bloomers I happened to purchase at the same time.
I'll go over the purchase, communication, and delivery of F+F first. This was actually very straightforward. I only had one question that I had about the coat since I was using custom measurements. I asked this over a weekend and it was answered first thing on Monday, reminding me that due to placing a rush on the order it would indeed be ready within about a week. Perfect.
So we have:
Order date – 9/6/13
Shipping date – 9/17/13
Delivery attempt – 9/20/13 (I wasn't home!)
Delivery – 9/23/13
The packing had me a little worried since sometimes customs can get rough with packages. Both items were in simple plastic bags put into a bigger plastic DHL bag. However nothing came in damaged so all was well!
Now onto the items themselves!
Note: Lighting is HORRIBLE in my apartment for black things so most photos will be grainy. I couldn't get a decent shot of the coat actually worn for this reason. Sorry!

Now again this was a custom size order. I may have been able to get away with their “Lady 80” size, but my measurements were off just enough that I really, really wanted to be sure I had the right fit everywhere since this coat had no way to adjust sizes through lacing and whatnot.
Some reviews and comments I've seen say that F&F makes their coats on the roomy side and to use smaller measurements, but I used my very precise real ones.
I tried it on with what layers of my lolita wardrobe I have handy currently (JSK, bloomers). Overall the fit was all right - I'm completely excited to have a coat with the correct sleeve length for my short little arms and short stature in general! The only place where it was a bit loose is in the waist. Not so loose as to ruin the fit, but it could probably have been made a couple inches smaller and still have been fine. It's at least loose enough so that when I have a full layered coord on underneath it won't be too tight. ;)
The construction from what I can tell is great. Everything looks and feels solidly made and the cotton lining is nice. This is one heavy coat! I haven't tested it in the chilly Vancouver weather yet though. I think this will handle fall weather well, but only time will tell if it'll handle winter weather too.
The one thing I didn't like but was fully expecting from the photos is the capelet. It looked odd in the photos from the way it was designed, and it did indeed look odd when I wore it! It just drapes rather strangely. However, I'm not concerned about this since I adored the simple look of the coat without it so it's not really a loss for me.
Coat Rating: 4/5

Actually not too much to say about these actually. They're cute, seem solidly-made, and I think they'll work out well! I actually liked these a lot better than the simple ones I ordered from Anna House.
They seem a tiny bit tight in my thighs, but not to much that's it's uncomfortable. Just enough that I notice. I'm sure they'll loosen up as I wear them.
Bloomers Rating: 5/5
Production and Shipping Times: 5/5
Clothing Rating: 4/5
Overall Satisfaction 4/5
Overall I'm happy with the purchase. Everything went smoothly and in a timely manner. I just really can't rate this 5/5 just because of the loose-ish fit of the coat. I'm not that irked over it, and I know if I ever do want it taken in further down the road I can do so. :)
I have read that some people take their body measurements and subtract 5cm off of that to get the best fit since coats from F&F run large. You could do that based on what I'm seeing, but I definitely wouldn't do that with things like sleeve lengths. They nailed the length of the coat and sleeves in my case!
Hope this helped a bit!
