English Charm Petticoat Review (Positive!)
18th-Feb-2013 09:16 pm
sailor, Lolita, dress
I've been on the hunt for good organza petticoats so that I can avoid the problem of the all-too-soon deflation of tulle petticoats. I had bought a skirt from English Charm a few years ago which I still have and love, so I decided to try out their petticoats as well!

I purchased two petticoats in the cupcake shape, one in black and one in white. I'm very happy with what I received!

I placed my order on January 30th and got an email the next day acknowledging my order, saying that it would be approximately 2 weeks until the order was finished and shipped out. On February 10th, I was sent a partial refund as shipping ended up being cheaper than thought. The next day I got my tracking number, and it arrived at my house on the 14th.

Cute wrapping!

The postcard is a nice touch, I'll definitely be keeping it for my room. One thing I always appreciate is a hand written thank you note.

Both of them together, and one laid out on it's own.

Flipped inside out to show the lining.

Label and tag, complete with care instructions. They're clean and professional looking, which I really like.

Close up of the organza and the liner. Both are very soft! All the seams are straight and there are no loose threads.

Now for the worn photos!

Overall, everything is wonderful! The petticoats are extremely well made, the materials are soft and they fit great! The waist band is quite firm. Not tight to where it's painful or constricting, but it's definitely not going to be moving around! Which is great, because nobody likes a saggy petti. I personally like there to be more poof than less, so I will most likely wear both together or one with a smaller, 'dead' tulle petticoat. I hope that I won't have to replace them, unlike I do with my tulle ones. Or at least not for a while.

I hope this was helpful, and I highly recommend English Charm's petticoats!

Thank you! I used to like a more casual amount of fluff, but I just can't get enough now!

I have quite a bit of English Charm. The craftsmanship is impeccable. My first petticoat from there is the black organza A-line. I love it to bits, and SHOULD have worn that one under my JSK for classes today. I was in a rush, 3 exams... I just put on whatever.

I was really surprised in a great way in how good the quality of the construction was. I had never seen reason to make a review about petticoats before, but these are so nice. Glad to know you love yours too!

I also have two blouses and a bolero. I'm in utter love. I'm tall, so I pretty much don't have a chance in hell of most brand blouses fitting me and Bodyline other off brands are a "crap shoot".

Jacqueline's skills as a seamstress are amazing. Everything is "just right". With repeat "custom" she sends little gifts in addition to the hand written thank you note.

Aww, that's so nice! It seems like she has the perfect balance of professionalism and caring for her customers, which I think is really important.

And "correction"... I have FOUR blouses... 2 of one model in black and white and a black long sleeved blouse. One blouse is too big now and I'm hoping to rehome it.

I met Jacqueline back stage at the first Khaotic Kouture at ACen. If you're ever in need of anything, she's an excellent "go to". She always keeps her deadlines, and you've seen, her work is beautiful.

Not OP, but I own the OP and it's written : Chaque jour, "Marie est très déprimée à cause de ses études" or something like that. Basically : "Every day, Marie is very depressed because of her studies". ^^
