Hello everyone,
I took a lot of photos over the past years. So one day I decided to combine it with my second hobby, the "demoscene".

The demoscene is a bunch of computer geeks, who enjoy creating programs, art and music (if you want to know more about it, take a look at So I gathered some friends and we started working on a "demo". A friend of mine created a music track and another one helped me coding a 3D-Engine powering our graphics. Two lolitas helped me editing the photos: harlyharlekin nd bellaoscurita. It took us altogether two month to create the final piece but in the end we were quite pleased. I traveled to "Evoke" (a German demo-party) and showed it around.

Here is the video capture of our demo on youtube, hope you enjoy watching:

Thank you.

I do not listen to a lot of music und usually to different styles. It was unusual to me, too. :-)

I have to admit I was unaware of this as an art-form until five minutes ago, so I guess my reaction is somewhat uninformed. I was left confused by this it meant to present the fashion in general? Is there a reason those particular photos and 3D graphics were chosen? Is this kind of like those music videos M.I.A. and Azealia Banks released, with the sort of throwback animations?

Same here.
I was somewhat confused by why certain 3D graphics were chosen.

Although my favorite was the pair of lolitas crouching and the patterned background suddenly started moving.
That was pretty cool.

It is not just a video but also a program which creates the video. In the demoscene we create those programs (besides having fun in the process itself) to demonstrate out skills in programming, making music and graphics etc.

I tried to combine typical themes found in the demoscene with similar things I found in reality. For example a checkerboard can be found in a lot of demos and I found one on my photos, too.

I like the music! Who is the musician? I couldn't find anything on "mindbomb" :)

He has a website for his music here:

Oh wow, Demoscene. That takes me back. Awesome! So how was the reception of your vid at evoke?
10th-Jan-2013 07:49 am (UTC)
Initial reception was in my opinion quite good (clapping after showing on the big screen etc.), but people also complaint that:
- you only repeat the same old effects
- great remake of old effects, but why do you mix it with those pictures

So it the end, opinions are mixed, it is not everybodies cup of tea.

Haven't seen a lolita themed demo before :D In Finland we have this annual huge demo event Assembly where they have demo competitions. I have been there a couple of times, cool stuff!

Assembly is sadly to far and to expensive to reach for me, but there seems to be a fair amount a of sceners from finland travelling to germany every year.

I think there was some good pairing of animation to pictures the checkerboard one, the falling petals and the parasols all worked really well. In some of the other animations the pairing were a bit distracting and didn’t seem to relate to the image shown.

Thank you!

I am so proud to be a part of it! Keep going! :)
