Question regarding AP's upcoming Lucky Packs
12th-Dec-2012 09:17 pm
Summa Injuria --
Hello, I'm finally ready to make my first 'brand' purchase. Since I have a bigger bust, I decided I'll get (or at least try to get) the Angelic Pretty 'Dream Fantasy' salopette set for the stated reason. The problem is, I tried to get a LP last year with no luck as they sold out instantly. I'm wondering if I should get a shopping service since they're accepting reservations since tomorrow at noon on the Japanese online store, or if I should just try to purchase one again from the online AP-SF store. I know it'll be more expensive to get a shopping service due to fees and shipping, so I'd also like to ask what are usual the usual costs of these services.

I also have another question regarding Lucky Packs. Sometimes I see them being re-sold here at the comm sales, both individually and whole. In case I get mine and it doesn't fit, can I ask how are the pieces sold separately? I'm almost sure the salopette will fit, with the cutsew I'm not so sure. I don't think it'd be fair to sell it at a regular cutsew price given it didn't cost the same.

I'm sorry if these questions have been answered but I didn't find anything in the memories or tags and I didn't dare to use the comm-sales page to ask this.

(I know this is lame and almost impossible, but is there a specific time LPs are posted or released, or do you refresh your browser desperately? I know I did!)

Thanks in advance!

I just want to advise you that the salopette in this pack looks like it's going to have a shorter "bib" section than the past 2 LPs, so that it is sort of an underbust, which can sometimes look awkward on girls with larger chests, especially if you're over like 5'4". I'm in a similar situation, I've been trying to find pictures of this style of salopette worn by bustier girls.

You're probably not going to find a shopping service this late in the game either.

Sorry to be such a debbie downer :\ Just keep F5ing like me.

I just noticed that, but it if the straps are adjustable I *think* I can work around it, if not, I'd sell it. I'm 5'2", could that be a problem?

And don't worry about it! Ii prefer honesty instead of a 'go ahead and buy it' (:
Thanks!

It's cool, I am still kicking myself for missing out last year because at the time I just wasn't interested in AP, so I'm going to try to get one this year and see how it suits me. I'm 5'4" and a little chesty myself. I've seen some people pull off the underbust salopette look so it's not impossible, just probably depends on height, bodyshape, measurements, etc.

Hey there, I posted a new comment on this same thread. All the pieces have back shirring including the salopette, as described in the product page. (:

Heyo! Sort of unrelated, but I've been looking for luckypack info and haven't found any. Could one of you guys maybe link me to it? :)

I don't know if linking to other sites is allowed but here:

Like the poster above mentioned, you don't have enough time to try to secure a shopping service, as the lucky packs come out online a few hours from now. You could try the AP International site -- usually they put up lucky packs at the same time as the Japanese shopping site, or just a few minutes later. In fact, the AP international site may be a bit cheaper than ordering from the San Francisco store, as PayPal's exchange rate is surprisingly more favorable than AP SF's mark-up (enough so that you are still saving money even after international shipping).

As for your second question, the pieces are frequently sold separately. If you're not sure how to price an item, you can either wait for it to come up on Mbok or the sales comm and go off of their price, or guess. You can always set your price a little high and be willing to take offers. If no-one bites on your sale at a certain price, you can re-post the item after 4 days with a 20% reduction (if you don't reduce the price by 20% you must wait 30 days to re-post the item).

And the AP website says the lucky packs will come online at noon, Japanese time, on the 13th. If you figure out what time that is in your time zone, you have a pretty good estimate of when they'll appear, lol. I'd still F5 the crap out of the site maybe an hour beforehand in case they're added early. :P

The San Fran store said no reservations, and online lucky pack sales start Jan1 =/

Still better to get them from the international shopping site, in my opinion, although that is good information for anyone who may have missed them on the int'l site and wants to take a second shot at buying them online. :P
13th-Dec-2012 03:29 am (UTC)
I actually didn't even know you could buy them from the int'l site....cause then...what's the point of a shopping service? Just because it opens a few minutes earlier? xD
I actually did end up going thru a shopping service....I can't wait to see how awful the shipping is haha
13th-Dec-2012 03:44 am (UTC)
you go through the ss to get it from the japan only site or from in store sales of the LP.
13th-Dec-2012 04:01 am (UTC)
I dunno... I guess it may be a little easier to buy lucky packs in person in Japan, since you can physically go to one of the stores and line up. Unless your shopping service is attempting to buy it from the web site, in which case he/she probably has the same chance of getting one as someone F5'ing the international shopping site. xD
13th-Dec-2012 04:23 am (UTC)
I guess.....she said she only got ahold of 2 lucky packs so far O.o but she will be going tot he actual store too.
13th-Dec-2012 05:22 am (UTC)
The stock levels might be different? I've always gotten the impression that the international shop seems to not get as much of each item as the Japanese one, but I could be wrong.
13th-Dec-2012 03:19 am (UTC)
It would be a 28 day wait period before you can post without 20% mark down. It's 4 weeks to be exactly in line with the rules, which translates to 28 days.
13th-Dec-2012 04:02 am (UTC)
Lol, that's why I'm not a sales comm mod. xD
13th-Dec-2012 04:11 am (UTC)
Having it as a month would be much easier on the math, but all months are not created equal. WRYYYY?! DX
13th-Dec-2012 03:07 pm (UTC)
Woah! This thread kind of grew! Would you give me the link to the International site? I think I don't have that one!
13th-Dec-2012 03:10 pm (UTC)
Sure! Although I didn't see the lucky packs go up for sale last night.

Thanks! Well, I just checked a World Clock and it marks that's 12:30 something a.m in Tokyo right now. Maybe it's still not 'today' technically? I'm not good with clocks, I also went to the Japanese site and didn't see anything unless they're only taking phone reservations.
13th-Dec-2012 03:28 am (UTC)
anyone know if the English site plans to put packs up tonight like last year? I'm waiting like crazy..
13th-Dec-2012 03:39 am (UTC)
As far as I've seen, the English site will be releasing them the first of January and no reservations. /: Hope that helps~
13th-Dec-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
I thought that was for the U.S.A in San Francisco site? I'm speaking about the international english one. http://www.japan-shops.com/rc/we70613/?c=513&show=20&mode=&keyword=
13th-Dec-2012 03:45 am (UTC)
Oh, I'm sorry D:
I haven't heard anything for the international english one /:
13th-Dec-2012 03:47 am (UTC)
oh well, thank you for trying :)
13th-Dec-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
Yeah I've been checking it too, nothing there =/
13th-Dec-2012 06:04 am (UTC)
This sucks, I was hoping to get one tonight or at least a shot and it seems they won't be uploading them to the english site.
13th-Dec-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
No problem! Wish I could have been of more help~

With resale, I guess the fairest thing to do is think about what retail price for all the items would be usually and then compare that to the lucky pack price, and discount accordingly

Say for example you get a skirt and a cutsew and socks in a lucky pack for 10000 yen, normal retail price of a skirt is about 15000 yen, cutsew maybe 7000 yen, socks 3000 yen. So the total value is 25000 yen but you only paid 10000 yen, so it pretty much means everything is discounted to 40% of its original price. So if you decided to sell the cutsew a fair price would be about 2800 yen, which would be 40% of the original value. Same with the skirt and socks. However, if certain things are more or less popular (e.g. a printed skirt is seen as a "main" item whereas loliable cutsews are easy to find on taobao) you could ask for slightly more.
13th-Dec-2012 05:31 am (UTC)
For the pricing, you could always auction the item. Find the price of an average AP item of each type in the pack and then add those up. Now, use this formula to determine how much of the cost of the pack corresponds to each item:

For example:
Average Item Price LP Item Price
-------------------------------- = ------------------------
Total Average Items Prices Total you paid.

Or, more precisely: LP Item Price = ((Average Item Price * Total you Paid) / Total Average Item Price)

Use that as the starting bid price (it's a very low price already, since LPs are essentially sale items) and let people bid. Worst comes to worst, you won't loose anything as long as one person is interested.

Thank you! Someone posted the international site on the comment section, I'm on my phone so I can't really tell.

If I ever grab one, I'll follow your suggestions on selling the cutsew.</p>

Thanks so much for answering my question! The admins at the SF Facebook page said they will update the announcement because some items have shirring. Just saying in case any other busty friend wants something!

13th-Dec-2012 06:46 pm (UTC)
Everything is sold out at the Japanese site but I did find out that all of the items have back shirring, though it doesn't specify whether is full or partial.
Here's the link with the clickable images that describe the packages: http://www.angelicpretty.com/shopping/item/reserve/2013fuku/index.htm
Hope it helps those who were wondering.

I don't know if this thread should be closed in order to avoid spam.
