Paypal Payment Reversal

So i sold a Angelic Pretty dress aprox. 3 months ago
The transaction was made without problems
Today, however, i received an email about a reversal of the transaction, so now
my account is negative 393....
I actually used paypal to print out the USPS shipping label, so paypal should have the 
tracking number and be able to confirm the package was delivered.
So why is it that paypal accepted the payment reversal made by the buyer?
What can i do to get my money back...?
This is f'ed up.... and i knew this might happen, i shouldve listened to my gut and took a photo of the package and its contents...
This makes me so angry...
Help, please?

Can the seller open a dispute? I'd start raising some heck right now, email Paypal support with your delivery proof! Also, what's up with the buyer, did they claim the package did not arrive, or that the contents were wrong, or ...?

this actually happened to one of my friends recently; provide them with the tracking number and any postage receipts you might still have and pray.

I was also worried of the sale because the buyers account had a 'unverified' status to it...
that shouldve been a warning sign, but i gave the buyer the benefit of the doubt that she wouldnt screw me over

Paypal call center is very helpful, they are more human than we think.
Your situation gave me chilling think - might some other sketchy person will try to do same thing!
I hope you'd get your money back soon, you have tracking number it won't be hard

The same exact thing has happened to me this morning. I think we might have even sold to the same person. It looks like I'm making a call too :|

The last time this happened to me (someone purchased currency for an online game I was running and then claimed that someone else had used their credit card to do it months down the line when they got bored of the game, despite having been a repeat customer for quite some time), I was sent an email from paypal giving me a chance to dispute it. Unfortunately, it went into my spam box and I didn't see it until past the deadline, so I was out the $10 and a fee. Unless they have changed drastically since then, you should be able to fight it. If you have your sales photo or anything like that it can serve as proof of item condition.

I notice it says she's in California whereas the address I shipped to was in Florida. Can anyone else back this up?

I'm panicking because I have student loans to pay. And food to buy ;(

We conducted our transaction via pm and personal payment.

When I called PayPal this morning they told me that I'm not eligible for protection because it was personal payment and that it's harder for them to prove that it was a legitimate payment because it's personal.

So they told me the only thing I can do is send her to small claims court.

I'm in tears ATM. It was a 522 dollar transaction.

Any advice would be great. Or any info so I can take her to small claims court and get my money back would be appreciated.

I thought the point of having payment sent as a gift is that it couldn't be disputed. Since it was gifted there's no takebacksies, right? Is the issue then in this case that the paypal was stolen?

I had this happen before, if you call their customer service you should be able to get your money back!

What a mess..

I had something like this happen to me before, and eventually, PayPal ruled in my favour and gave me back my money.

I hope it will end well for those affected.

an update:


Paypal told me that the card she used was deemed fraudulent. Therefore because it was sent as personal payment to me I'm SOL.


I fully intend on calling the police in either Florida or California and/or taking her to small claims court. If any of you have any information that could help me fight this I would greatly appreciate it.

All I have are her name and her address in Florida.

Apparently she's only like 30 minutes away from me, from the city she has as currently living on Facebook. I'm not sure how much of her profile people can see since I happen to have a mutual friend so if anyone needs a specific ss of a dress they've sold to her pm me. Hope everything gets resolved.

This has just happened to me, but she reversed $950!!!!!

I also sent to a FL address, my transaction was on the 6th of August and despite the fact that invoiced her paypal is saying that Im not covered for some reason.
Looks like she waited 3 months and claimed back everything she has bought over this period. I feel sick that someone would do this.

Her California address is apparently around an hour away from my house, so I could possibly help if we needed it? I'll be going back to the area for Thanksgiving break in a few days. :< This stinks, and I hope that all of you get your money back!

This is horrifying, and I'm wishing the best to all of you. If not, take this girl to small claims court ASAP. This should be resolved now, not later.

Also, there's a thread on /cgl/ with caps of her responding to a post on Facebook about this issue: she states that she's had identity theft issues and had cancelled her cards, and her credit card company is the one that keeps calling for these chargebacks, without her permission. Of course, that doesn't explain why she hasn't been in contact. Just thought those involved should know.

Actually, the thing I take away from this is that we should not encourage lolis to use the gift option for BUSINESS transactions, and I am in fact a little surprised that no one else has addressed this. I'm glad the mods have openly said they do not encourage that behaviour.

Update:

Maikodolly refunded me through what She says is her friends PayPal address. I'm not sure why she's having to use her friend's but I believe her account is frozen or something?
