"LOLITA: The Artwork" a fashion collective

Good evening, lolitas! I made an announcement several months ago about a call to artists for a lolita-themed fashion art book. Well, the response was overwhelming and I'm happy to announce that the book is FINISHED and available for purchase!

I wanted to create a book depicting different styles of lolita fashion, and the response I got from the community was incredibly positive. Multiple illustrators from EGL all over the world contributed to this book, I really hope people will enjoy it!

It's a full color, glossy paperback book at 115 pages featuring 47 different lolita artists including myself. If you'd like to learn more about the project, you can visit the blog here. The book is for sale for $28.50 through Lulu - no profit is being made, it was purely for fun and was something I wanted to do to contribute to the lolita community. If the $30 or so is out of your price range right now, you can also download a free .PDF version.

If you like the artwork please help me to advertise the book! I'm trying to get the word out and am hoping people will buy copies to show off during International Lolita Day on June 2nd. I'll be bringing my copy to the Oregon meet-up!  :)

A big thank you goes out to all the illustrators who participated - again, I could not have done this without them.

(EDIT: If you enjoy the book and want to help spread the word, please feel free to grab any images off the blog to use on your own facebook/tumblr/blog/etc - no need to ask)

I just downloaded the PDF and had a browse through, and I love it! It's great seeing so many different styles of drawing interpreting the fashion. I don't know how I didn't hear about the book before, but it was a great idea! Well done to all the contributors :)
That's great to hear, thank you so much!
You're welcome! I just posted a little review-type thing on my blog, with links to the book's blog and where to download/buy the book, a little info about it, and three of my favourite pages. Hope that's okay! It's all here.

Thank you for organized this great project! =) I'm glad to part of it and great to see different people artwork too. I download the PDF file, hopefully I can buy book soon.
How exciting! I have just purchased a copy!
Wee I'm so happy it's finished :D Thanks for getting the project together and taking on the amends, you've been great at organising the whole thing! Looking forward to getting my copy, will order one tonight. Will do a review on my blog and link you to it when it's done!
Thank you so much!
Congrats on finishing the project! :) I'll download it for now but plan on ordering the printed version in the future.
I wonder, if it sells well, do you consider to repeat this project and make another one in the future?
At this point I hadn't considered making another book, but since the response was so positive it could certainly be an option. I don't have any immediate plans but I would LOVE to approach a gallery about doing a lolita art show featuring pieces from the book as well as including new artists. I've never curated a gallery show before - I may look into contacting Sweet Streets LA or some other similar venue to see if they'd be interested in collaborating. I will certainly keep everyone updated if that goes forward!
What a great idea and initiative! Congratulations on finishing it! :D
Thank you - it was awesome getting to see everyone's artwork.
Thank you so much for posting this, I want to buy the artbook as soon as I'll have enough money *_* !
Wonderful! :)
This is gorgeous! Thank you so much for your efforts. I am so glad it came through. I just downloaded the PDF and I will be sure to purchase some copies tomorrow.

Could you possibly try sending an email to the GLB? I remember they always had artwork and letters in the back of the book... maybe there is way to tell them about it? I would hope they would be impressed and at least include a little blurb about it. I remembered saving the submission info for the english version but I've never thought to look out the Japanese version.
That's a great idea-I hadn't even thought of that!

I'm assuming you mean the Japanese one since the English has since gone out of print, correct? I will look into that this weekend, I have some copies of the bible, I'll try and find the submission address or some sort of contact info.
Yep, I meant trying to find the address for the Japanese one which I couldn't provide. Hopefully you get a response!
Already posted to the lolita fashion art tumblr page~ Thanks a lot for putting this book together~
A few people I know have asked if there was gonna be another round of submissions for another artbook soon, since they missed out last time.
I'm definitely planning to buy a copy after I get back from my trip.
In the meantime though, I'll post it on my blog!
I ordered the book two days ago. I'll definitely post some pictures on my tumblr when it arrives.
Thanks for organising the project! :D
Thank you for doing this, I had a ton of fun creating my pieces for the artbook <3

I did make a post about it on my blog http://lemontree11blog.blogspot.com/2012/05/lolita-artbook.html

Do check it out :)
Yay *_* I've been waiting for this to come out! Downloading my copy now, can't wait to buy one soon <3

I hope there's another edition someday >< I couldn't contribute due to being busy with school, but I'd like to try if there's another.
Time went by so quickly! It was very fun to work on the artwork for this and I'm so happy to see the book. I will be buying it as soon as I have some spare cash. Great job everyone!
maybe my question sounds kinda noobish, but how can I download free pdf from there?? I was looking for a while, but haven't find any direct link or something.
Click the "download free PDF" link above in the post, then on Lulu you will need to click, "add to cart." It won't charge you anything, Lulu treats the free PDF like you're putting it in your cart and purchasing an item.
I've made right that way, but it asks for coupon code which I don't have =((
