Which petticoat is better? Classical Puppets or Dear Celine?
31st-Aug-2011 06:42 pm

I was looking into getting one and I was reading through posts here on EGL but still cannot decide which one I should get..

There is Classical Puppets Daily Bell Shape Petticoat

And Dear Celine Fluffy Petticoat.

I'm more of a HUGE poof fan so the bigger, the better. :)

OKAY! SO! I decided to get a Classical Puppets Petticoat but upon more reseaching I discovered that there are a few more I like by them.... Help me narrow it down??

Well I have to say I'm personally a classical puppets fan.
Another thing I'm going to suggest you order with Clobba Online. Because qutieland is sooo expensive.
I have both the A line AND the Bell shape classical pettis from here:
but if your heart is set on Dear Celine anyway, here's where they sell them too:
I like Clobbaonline more because I find they give better service. Qutieland can be elusive at the best of times.

I don't see how you can order off of Clobba Online but thanks!

Ah, thank you! They don't seem to have the one I want though.. pity.

You could try to order directly from the Taobao shops themselves, too, it's a lot cheaper =]

Classical Puppets =

Dear Celine -

All you need to do is email a shopping service (like Taobaonow or Pruany or Taobaospree) and they will order it for you. They should also let you use airmail which is really cheap.

I never know what kind of shopping service to use for Taobao since the sites that I usually plan on ordering through have horrible reviews or they're prices are outrageous, any options?
1st-Sep-2011 10:53 pm (UTC)
If you want something specific from Taobao, Martin (guy from Clobba) can get it for you anyway, even if it's not in store; just mail him the link, he's very nice!
Another cheaper Shopping Service is Dollypoddle.

I have both and say they are both pretty similiar. I personally prefer my Dear Celine one but the Classical Puppets one definitely is the poofier one of the two.

I would suggest classical puppets. A friend of mine got the dear celine petticoat and it gave hardly any poof. However, I own a classical puppets a-line petticoat and it's a poof monster. And it doesn't deflate like other pettis!
1st-Sep-2011 12:09 am (UTC)
Yes! I find they travel well/keep well in storage too!
1st-Sep-2011 01:12 am (UTC)
by hardly any poof do you mean not making any difference at all? Or just a small amount? b/c I just ordered a DC petti (version #1) and I don't like giant poof but I don't want nonexistent poof either.
1st-Sep-2011 03:19 am (UTC)
Just a small amount, I'd say it'd be good for casual wear. I like a lot of poof, so the classical puppets petti is the better option for me. :)

Classical Puppets; no matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, the poof constantly threatens to drown me in frills.
1st-Sep-2011 04:51 am (UTC)
I have both and the classical puppets one is definitly poofier and holds it's shape a bit better too. But both are pretty good! :)

It's interesting that everyone in here seems to have experienced exactly the opposite from me O.o I've had both pettis, and while the CP is the one I kept because it makes always the right shape (a-line under a-line skirts, cupcake under cupcake skirts), the DC one was definitely poofier. This petticoat is a MONSTER. It was like a ball when it first arrived, it would have rolled around if you'd kick it!

I'm really cruel to my petticoats, I have to sit a lot at university and have my really heavy schoolbag on my lap during the way, so I tend to kill pettis sooner than others. The DC withstood that longer than the CP one. Both only deflated a little bit and then kept their shape (I assume for the rest of this world's age), but since I'm not a sweet lolita the DC was just too poofy and bell-shaped for my use, so I gave it away. I still have the CP one, and while it's definitely not as poofy anymore as when it was new, it's still great and I don't think this will change anytime soon.

tl;dr: if you need MONSTERMURDERERPOOF and are only wearing cupcake-shaped dresses and skirts, the DC one is for you. If you're looking for a versatile petti that won't ever give up on you, the CP is the best choice. Basically you can't do anything wrong with either of them.

The only petti I wouldn't recommend is the super poofy one from DollscrOps - it looks amazing in their stock pictures and feels like the softest cloud you'll ever touch, but in reality its poof is more like their daily a-shape one and due to the extreme cozy softness of material, it doesn't even hold that very well. (Now that I look at it, I should start a petti suggestion service...)

Oh damn, forget what I said. I mixed the classical puppets one up with the one I own. You posted the "daily bell shape petticoat", I have the "a-shape fluffy petticoat".

From my experience, "daily" always means less poof, it's meant to work in daily life where you shouldn't knock over things in shops and stuff. So if you're looking for a poofy one, I'd recommend the "a-shape fluffy petticoat" from CP. For a reference, this is what it looks like worn under a typical cupcake-shaped dress:

I second (third? fourth? lol) Classical Puppets' petticoats. I have the A-line one and it HUGE. It also holds up very well to being sat on or squished away for storage. The only problem with it (if it's actually a problem lool) is if you walk through a space that's considerably smaller than the width of the petticoat (like through those train barriers) or there's a huge gust of wind, you'll need to readjust the ruffles that give it it's poof to keep it even.

Classical puppets. I bought both the classical puppets cupcake petti and Dear Celine's Frothy petticoat off of Clobba at the same time and the Classical puppets has been the far superior petticoat of the two.

Though it hardly matters cause I always wear both at the same time for poof-monster frills XD
1st-Sep-2011 01:47 pm (UTC)
so you mean the CP one is poofier?
1st-Sep-2011 10:17 pm (UTC)
ah yes. Classical puppets > Dear Celine.

I was also referring to which has held its poof longer before deflating. And CP is clearly in the lead. With mine two anyways.
1st-Sep-2011 03:42 pm (UTC)
I have the classic puppets one you linked. It's super duper poofy and comfy too. Not as much as the a-line version, but still really great.

Hi! I have a petticoat from DC and another of Classical Puppets.
The CP petti is more than poof than DC petti.
Sometime, skirt with heavy fabrics I wear both. Down de Pettit of Classical Puppets and above the petti of Dear Celine.

If you want a poof petti I recommend Classical Puppets ^_^

Anyway, I give you the link of this Petti

Sorry, but my english is too bad ^^;
