kstar milkychan replicas

Putamayo Plicka with bunny
Just a quick warning on the milky chan replicas that have recently come out on ebay, i'm not sure about the other colours but i bought the OP and the skirt in black and it came with a festy mildewy smell so i washed it in cold water on a gentle cycle and it turned grey instantly, the print itself is still fine but the dress and skirt now look really old, so always remember that you DO get what you pay for sometimes, i just thought i'd put this out there before all the good reviews start showing up before people have washed them!

It's hard to tell it's grey from pics but if you compare the colour of the dress to the lace you can tell they're different now.

Why would you say "Cool story, bro" then ask for pics?

mixed signals.

Thanks for the heads up ~ though pictures would be really helpful. :(

I'm sorry that happened to you!

pic is up, its hard to capture black properly on camera though

Thanks, i knew there was a risk, i just hope i can save others from wasting their money!

Eeyew! Well I'll be sure to stay clear of them. =/

You wouldn't want to get them in the first place. It's cheap and for 50 bucks you can get better stuffs at Bodyline.

I just bought the pink one! I hope this doesn't happen :(

good luck, you might be ok because it's a lighter colour maybe?
1st-Jul-2010 05:59 am (UTC)
I only juuust bought one from 'girldorock' on ebay, black too, so I hope it doesn't get all terrible like that! But, as it's obviously a faulty product, couldn't you contest it?
1st-Jul-2010 06:15 am (UTC)
Thats where i got mine from too, hopefully you have better luck with yours!

I'm not sure it'd be called faulty, it's just cheaply made, but i was aware there was a risk and i went for it anyway

I had the same problem with the mildew smell. I thought it was just because the package during the mailing process got exposed to water, Now reading this I know that is not the case! I bought mine from the "girldorock" ebay user.

I took some pictures of mine also to share. The one problem with mine was after I washed it a small white fade spot appeared. I used the hand wash selection of my washing machine, put it to gentle, and used baking soda with cheer for dark clothing. The color looked a little different after washing it though.

Mine is from the same ebay user, i wasn't sure if it happened in the mail either but that's pretty crappy if they're all like that

Thanks for sharing the pics, yours has fared much better than mine did but that fade spot is strange, especially sinse you took extra precautions :/

Really sorry to hear about this. Good thing you warned the rest of the people who might have considered buying this. I personally never use ebay for lolita anymore since they always fail me >_

I just had a thought. If the dresses came out of the packaging damp, and smelling bad, would it help if you left it out for a day on the washing line or something? You know to air it out and dry, maybe it'd help the dye sink in? Idk, I'm not experienced with dye, but it was just a thought, for all the other girls who have already ordered these dresses.
1st-Jul-2010 12:52 pm (UTC)
It doesn't help, i tried airing them for a day before i washed it, i don't know anything about dye either though, maybe soniabunnys vinegar suggestion might work for others, hopefully, i'd hate to hear of more ruined dresses!

Gota say the print on that is more than acurate :S Shame it faded however =[
1st-Jul-2010 10:55 am (UTC)
AP probably has order to make the print in that factory, only on diffrent fabric.
And then the factory just decided to use the print again to get some extra money..
But as we now see, they have used bad fabric.

Might help to leave a dress that shows up mildewy in a bucket of water with a cup of vinegar mixed in. Vinegar helps with color fastness and the smell so you wouldn't have to use soap. Hopefully it's not just water leeching dye out of the fabric.

Thanks for the review/heads up.

Just wanted to add... some baking soda in the bucket helps too, that's my cure-all for mildew-y clothes... some vinegar and a cup of baking soda :D

Wow I thought this dress would be better quality coming from K-star (the print looks nice!), but its K-star being K-star....wonder how the other replicas are.
1st-Jul-2010 08:31 pm (UTC)
oh wow so faded D:. The print is so pretty too...

Has anybody seen these on taobao? Replica prices direct from China are usually way cheaper than what turns up on ebay.
2nd-Jul-2010 01:30 pm (UTC)
The shop posted on the last post seems to have the about the same prices.

Mine came in mildew smelly as well! i even found a small mold spot on mine...i haveyet to wash them..i just have had them outside to air dry out...they still have a strange wet feel.
13th-Jul-2010 02:01 am (UTC)
Yeah it doesnt seem to go away from air drying, that's disgusting that yours has a mold spot :/, good luck washing it I hope it works out for you, make sure you try some of the suggestions for washing it too!
