Bodyline Shipping?

Fucking Fierce Taemin Fuck Yeah
Hello, it's my first time ordering from Bodyline and i was reading some stories earlier concerning custom fees, and shipping problems, etc.
I'm just a bit worried about the custom fees.
I live in the US so I would like to know if you have had better experience with DHL or EMS -- and which one do you recommend?
Also, the total of my package is $69 with DHL and $84 with EMS.  I just want to try and avoid getting hit with customs.
Also, can someone help explain to me how to mark something down so i can try to avoid such fees?
Thank you very much (:

I'm in the US, and I've ordered from Bodyline many times, always by DHL (which is a flat $20 unless you catch them during an event). I've never had a problem with customs or anything, and in fact, I've always been very impressed by the quick delivery of my order. It always comes within 2 or 3 days. =^_^=;

Hope this helps!

thanks that helped ! :D
But i was wondering, do you usually order smaller amout orders? or larger ones? I guess it depends on the price...

Hmmm, I never ordered anything that totaled over $100, I don't think. My biggest order was probably $80 or so including shipping. You might have to ask someone else about bigger orders, though. Maybe someone who has hosted a group order?

Hmm~ that seems like a good idea ~
Thanks again :D

Ditto this. My last order was in February, around $250 and not marked down ($20 DHL shipping) on 23 Feb and arrived 2 March with no customs fees.

Hmm..thats's good that you didnt get hit with customs but it took that long to get shipped to you? ): I thought it should only take 2-3 days ><;

When you do your paypal ordering, there will be an opion that will let you do either full, half, or quarter price declaration so they'll mark down the price by either 50% or 75% so you won't get hit with customs fees.

But if the package gets lost, you only get coverage for up to the declared price.

I once bought $50 of stuff and got hit with a $10 "here, we paid to get your stuff out of customs now you pay us" fee
it was ridiculous :/
just mark your package down 75% you should be good xD

Don't quote me, but I believe US customs allows up to $200 in merchandise without duty tax. I just had a coat come in from Canada for about the same price as my upcoming BL order and it was fine. My order isn't over $200 but it's definitely more than your order.

Plus, whether you're hit with customs can be random. I've received plenty of international packages, and got hit with customs only once so far. It was when I was in Japan...it was on a shirt from Mandees with a couple of boxes of chocolate that customs decided was worth 10,000+ yen. ^^;;;;

I did a looksie on the etsy forums (as this question comes up from time to time) and found someone who linked this:

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/basic_trade/internet_purchases.xml

"Packages whose declared value is under $200 ($100 if being sent as a gift to someone other than the purchaser) will generally be cleared without any additional paperwork prepared by CBP. However, CBP always reserves the right to require a formal entry for any importation and generally exercises this option if there is something unusual about the importation, or if important documents such as an invoice or bill of sale do not accompany the item."

However, this quote is from the International Postal Service commentary and nothing similar is mentioned under Courier Shipping...I'd assume it's the same but I could be wrong.

Hmm, this is news to me~well hopefully its true and it's actually under $200 so..thank you very much for informing me :)
But i hope it will be okay since my order is not that much.
omg the whole box of chocolates thing is ridiculous lol X_X

I ordered something like $84 of merchandise with DHL and didn't have any problems with customs. I did ask that they mark it down by 50%, however, just in case!

I just ordered about $85 worth of purchases from Bodyline (they arrived last week) and they were delivered via DHL. I had no issues with customs at all ^^

I've ordered about $63 from BL including shipping from EMS and never got by customs recently. :D I usually use EMS, too.
