Rose Combs Tutorial
24th-Feb-2009 09:25 pm
huzzah
A few people have asked me about how to make rose corsage combs, so while I was putting together another set to match my new dresses, I snapped a few shots for a mini-tutorial. It's one of the easiest hair decorations you can make, but it's perfectly elegant and a perennial favorite for classic lolitas. In fact it's so easy, you'll be hot-gluing in your sleep before the night's over.

:D I have been wanting to make these corsages forever. I see some beautiful ones from MM but they're pretty expensive so i was wondering if i could make them myself. Really helpful tutorial you made this much easier for me haha. I have a lot of pink fake flowers but I waned to make corsages in different colors and I didn't want to go buy some more ~~ Yeah I didn't think of spray painting them XD; !
*adding to my memories*

that's a great tutorial, thank you so much! I keep wondering how to put those combs in your hair though, they seem to slide off mine all the time.

Actually I learned this at my first lolita meetup from puregirlblue. First point the comb in the direction opposite of your final position, dig in to your hair, and then reverse the direction and continue the motion. It's like a scooping motion, if that makes sense. On days when my hair's really not cooperating, I use two criss-crossing bobby pins to secure the comb portion too.

I've been obsessed with wearing flowers in my hair as of late but it's so hard to find ones that aren't crazy expensive or hideous. This is such a helpful tutorial - I can't wait to try it! Thanks! ♥

Wow, these are so pretty! Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to find here some pretty fake flowers. D:

Grey corsage is especially pretty. I love the various color schemes you've achieved with mere spray paint. <3
